How can you tell you may possibly have cancer? Here are a few tips.

1. Have you suddenly lost a lot of weight? Do you have a poor appetite? Do you have nagging pains that wake you up at night or keep you from sleeping? These aren't achy, sore muscle pain from overuse. It's an alarming kind of pain that wakes you up at night and keeps you awake. (Leg bone cancer, for example, will hurt your legs so badly that you suddenly can't walk-that's a very bad sign, the cancer has already destroyed the bone.)
   
2. Do you have bruises all over your body? A mole that has spread and doesn't look circular-with jagged borders? Do you feel beady lumps that don't hurt in your body (women-breasts especially). Radiotherapy or radiation therapy is also commonly used modality in treatment of pleural mesothelioma, especially in the late stages, as is used in treatment of other forms of cancer. Generally radiotherapy is used in combination with surgery or chemotherapy or with both for best results in pleural mesothelioma. External beam radiation is used to cause mutation of tumor cells within the body and slow their growth and spread.
